This newly renovated apartment is situated in a traditional courtyard house in the village of Gignese, just 10 minutes from Lake Maggiore. Located on the outskirts of the tranquil and unspoiled town of Gignese, it offers a quieter and less crowded alternative to the bustling lakeside towns. Surrounded by forests, Gignese provides excellent opportunities for hiking and mountain biking through the trees, offering spectacular views of the lake.

Up a small flight of steps from the entrance hall, guests will discover a spacious living room offering a panoramic view of Mount Mottarone. This stylishly furnished room features two sofas, a flat-screen TV, and a wood-burning stove. At the opposite end of the room, there's a dining area, and adjacent to it, a separate modern kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, a small dining table, and a Nespresso coffee machine.

Guests can also enjoy the shared courtyard, furnished with a table and chairs, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day by the lake. Please note that the owners feed the resident cat here twice a day, so any dogs staying will need to be kept on a lead or be cat-friendly.

Nearby Stresa (10 minutes) is renowned for its grand Art Deco villas and elegant hotels. The lakefront promenade offers visitors a perfect setting to admire both the lake and the town. Stresa hosts numerous international cultural festivals, including cinema and music, throughout the year. The weekly market (Friday mornings) is a treasure trove of the best local produce, and there are also many excellent grocery shops and supermarkets nearby.

Exploring Lake Maggiore is easy with the ferry pier in Piazza Marconi (18 minutes) in Stresa, where you can catch a ferry to the famous Borromean Islands. With their beautiful villas, gardens, and churches, these islands make a great day trip.

For children, the Alpyland Mottarone Adventure Park is just 22 minutes away, offering rides and activities for all ages.

Milan’s international Malpensa airport is a 50-minute drive from Stresa.

Payment terms and -periods

The initial deposit is 30% of the rent and any covered insurance. The second payment must be paid no later than six weeks before you leave. If you leave within nine weeks, you must pay the full amount in one installment.
