La Ciotat is located in the middle of a large gulf, called the Gulf of Love, at 33 km from Marseille and nearby 40 km from Toulon.

It is located in the heart of the Parc des Calanques. Its two coves, Le Mugel and Figuerolles, differ from those of Cassis by their red color with typical shapes (eagle's beak, dog's head).

La Ciotat celebrates every year the memory of the plague of 1720, where it became the attic; wheat of Provence, because it was the only maritime city spared by it: historical festival where the whole city is transformed and dressed up as in those days.
