There are several activities and sights to discover in and around Merksplas. Explore the Merksplas Kolonie, a former vagrants' colony, now a nature reserve with footpaths and historical buildings. Also fun to explore by bike: for example, follow the signposted Landlopersroute right through Merksplas Kolonie. Visit the weekly markets in nearby towns and villages, such as Turnhout, Hoogstraten and Rijkevorsel, to discover local products and crafts.
